New Alfa Romeo MiTo – Quadrifoglio Verde due for release at Frankfurt

Alfa Romeo will display a go-fast version of the popular MiTo at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Named the Quadrifoglio Verde, it will don the iconic four-leaf clover badge synonymous with some of the best Alfas.

Unless you’re Italian, the name is a bit of a mouthful. The car could prove to be quite a handful as well, with multiple developments over the stock MiTo. Power is ramped to over 125 kW from the same 1.4 litre MultiAir engine, specific power is an Alfa Romeo first; an impressive 124 hp/litre.

The new DNA suspension system is used in the new Quadrifoglio Verde. A new six speed gearbox is utilised, called a ‘next generation’ unit that is “result of a design philosophy aimed at improving driveability, consumption levels and production flexibility.” Let’s hope it shifts nicely.
