As Frankfurt comes closer to fruition, rampant rumours and gossip are part and parcel of the lead-up atmosphere to the special show. This little rumour, thanks to a South African Audi dealer, is quite tasty and provocative.
The dealer has apparently let slip that the contingent coming from Ingolstadt will bring an example of an Audi RS3, denoting a hot-hatch of epic proportions. Think bite-sized RS6. Fingers have been pointed towards the in-house TT’s 2.5 litre turbocharged, 250kW as a possible engine of choice.
It is worth noting however, that being part of the far-reaching Volkswagen Group empire, the supposed RS3 could get a powerplant coming from an 32 Golf to a spiced-up Seat or Skoda.
