Often lauded as one of (if not the) best examples of Alfa Romeo’s products, the achingly beautiful Alfa Romeo 8C’s first run of 500 cars got snapped up before you could say ‘I’ll have one in red’.
The Italian carmakers vainly tried to absorb the outrageous demand by producing another 500 8Cs, but this time without a lid. The car remained truly gorgeous and desirable, and the public remained famished for more.
Realing they’re on a definite winner, Alfa Romeo have laid down plans to build a GTA badged, factory go-fast version of the already quick supercar. The 331kW @ 7,000 rpm Ferrari-derived and built V8 already provides a quick a glorious sprint, fingers crossed the GTA-badged 8C will be even better.
The 8C’s braking capabilities have already been noted as super-powerful, slowing the car from 97 km/h to stop in only 32 metres.
If it comes to fruition, the 8C GTA will be held in such high esteem as the first 2007 model. Here’s hoping that the body alterations are kept subtle and minimal; ruining such a visual delight is, in my books, the most cardinal of sins.

I cannot deny that this car is exquisite in looks, I gotta say though the Alfa 147 is pretty darn good as well. The now humble 147 has been on my wishlist for a while now, so I’m guessing this new one is definately out of my league.
