Suzuki’s duminutive Alto has been released to Australia, providing another cost-effective option to the Australian small-car market.
Prices start from $12,490 for the Alto GL, and the GLX weighs in at $14,490. A 1 litre 3 cylinder donk pushes out a humble 50kW and 90Nm, but only has to heave around 885kg. Fuel consumption is claimed to stay well under the 5l/100km mark.
One of the Alto’s biggest drawcards is it’s 4-star ANCAP safety rating, instantly blowing much of the low-cost competition away straight off the bat.
Handling is beleivably meant to be sprightly and enjoyable, much akin the ‘big’ brother Swift. So, Suzuki has the great template for a real hot-hatch, here’s hoping they can make it.
